Smyth County Schools will begin an automated school zone speed enforcement program to increase safety for students, parents, teachers and anyone else traveling through the school zones. Please see the attached release for additional information.
At Northwood Middle School, it is our mission to prepare all students for the next step of their education, in addition to providing them with the skills necessary to function as responsible and productive members within a democratic society. We strive to provide them with attainable challenges in the areas of academics, critical thinking, and basic skills. We continually strive to promote self-esteem by engaging every student in the learning process while allowing for individual differences. Furthermore, we consider education to be a collective effort, dependent upon mutual respect and shared responsibilities among students, educators, parents, and members of the community. Finally, it is our goal that our students develop and nurture responsibility, perseverance, and an unrelenting desire to succeed, thereby providing them the foundation for a lifetime of success.
A team above all. Above all a team. We are the Panthers!
Welcome to our school! We believe that parent participation is key to student success; our new website is designed to provide parents with all the information they need to be active participants in their student’s education. You will find that the site works just as well on mobile devices as it does on a desktop so you can find information on the go.
